Belarusians don't want to fight in Ukraine but not against union with Russia

"Eighty-five percent of Belarusians are against Belarusian troops entering Ukraine, and about 30 percent feel threatened that Russia will drag Belarus into the war," sociologist Andrei Vardamatski told Euroradio, stressing that the citizens of our country have a clear and unique consensus on this issue.

Otherwise, according to the interlocutor, the Belarusians are less consolidated. Today there is an uneasiness of public opinion in society.

Among the reasons: unstable political and economic situation, the penetration of the Russian narrative in Belarus, issues related to Belarusian identity and the challenge of non-state media.

On June 20, Andrei Vardamatski, together with his colleagues from the Belarusian Analytical Workshop, presented a representative survey of public opinion and shared some curious results.
