Belarusians temporarily banned from entering forests (video)
The ban applies to the whole country due to high fire risk.
According to the Forestry Ministry, there have been recorded 350 cases of fires in the area of more than 150 hectares since the beginning of the fire season. Of these, 109 fires were recorded in the Gomel Region, 91 - in Minsk region, the smallest number was in Vitebsk - 11, reports BELAPAN.
It should be reminded that on August 5 Aliaksandr Lukashenka held a meeting on fire safety measures for woodland, agricultural lands and peatlands. He demanded to increase the effectiveness of fire prevention in heatwave conditions currently present in Belarus.
"It's nothing, we'll survive for 7-10 days, we'll do without forests. And if you do go there, have no matches, lighters, cigarettes on you. We need to control it over and over again," -- stressed Lukashenka.
