Brest activists apply for social protest march
The Brest branch of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) has applied for a social protest march. The action is scheduled for May 7 because May 1 coincides with Easter this year. About 700 people are expected to take part in the street action. They will walk along the city streets if officials allow it.
The main goal of the action is to express protest against the freeloaders’ tax (decree #3) and the retirement age increase. Similar actions have been planned by Social Democrats in the Luninets and Byaroza Districts.
