Doctors had two volume ventilators during Kubarava’s surgery

There were two volume ventilators available during Yuliya Kubarava’s surgery, anaesthetist Alyaksandr Shurau said in court, BELTA reports.

The other one was meant for short operations. However, it was not used after the first volume ventilator had broken down. Shurau had been performing pulmonary ventilation with the help of an Ambu bag until the main volume ventilator was repaired. There was no time for switching to the other apparatus at that moment, he said. The main apparatus was repaired fairly quickly and there was no need to use the other one.

The hearing of Yuliya Kubarava’s death case started on January 9. The girl died after a nose job. Director general of the medical centre Ecomedservice Halina Valzhankina, chief engineer Uladzimir Lihuta and anaesthetist  s are standing trial.

The deceased girl’s parents demand a compensation of Br10 billion.
