FC Homel fans claim to be beaten by riot police in Slutsk
FC Homel fans claimed that they had been beaten and insulted by the riot police after a 1/8 final match of Belarus Cup in Slutsk on November 21.
Fans hoisted the banner ‘We will not die anywhere’ and started lighting fires and petards in the middle of the second period, belultras.by reports. Riot policemen in full ammunition (with shields and truncheons) approached the fans but did not do anything. They led about 50 FC Homel fans to a police bus and delivered them to Slutsk Department of the Interior after the match.
The young men who were led to the police bus say that they were beaten, insulted and intimidated. All of them were filmed in the police office; they were made to show their T-shirts and tattoos. Their phones were taken away and some photos were deleted by policemen.
All FC Homel fans were let off a few hours later. An administrative report was drawn up against one of them.
The administration of Belarus Football Federation met with MIA representatives not long ago. They discussed the problem of relations between policemen and fans.
