Flood peak expected in Prague on Tuesday (video)
Previously, the meteorologists thought "the great water" would come to the Czech Republic on Monday.
According to the latest information, about 300 cubic meters of water per second flows in the river Vltava through the city, while 149 cubic meters is considered normal. The emergency flood barriers are constructed in Prague for 3 250 cubic meters per second.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas informed they could be forced to open the flood-gates on Vltava cascades which would increase the volume of water flowing through the city.
The state of emergency has been introduced all over the Czech Republic back on Sunday. The crisis headquarters is working in Prague, some areas have been evacuated. Today, 6 people are dead and 5 more are missing, RIA Novosti informs.
