Franscois Bayrou rejects backing to both Sarkozy, Royal
The leader of the centrist Union for French Democracy, Francois Bayrou, who came third with 18 percent of the votes during the Sunday's presidential elections, has refused to recommend his voters whom to support during the run-off. He said at a news conference on April 25 that he could not support either Nicolas Sarkozy or Senegale Royal because their policies were equally bad for the country.
Bayrou also said he was not to make any deal with either of the two camps. Besides, he announced that he was establishing a new centrist Democratic Party which would prepare to run in the next general elections, according to agencies.
