IMF mission begins work in Belarus
A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Jacques Miniane will work in Belarus on 9-13 July, reports BELTA quoting the IMF Resident Representative Office. The mission is scheduled. It will review the current economic situation in Belarus.
In the past several years, Belarusian authorities have tried to receive a loan from IMF (up to $3 billion). However, the fund says a loan is possible only if Belarus liberalizes its economy and carries out structural reforms. The last time an IMF mission worked in Belarus was in the autumn of 2017.
