IMF ready to give another credit to Ukraine
The new credit may total $17.5 billion.
Head of the Intentional Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde has announced that the fund is ready to give a credit of $17.5 billion (€15.5 billion) to Ukraine. The IMF mission agreed on it during its work with the Ukrainian government in Kiev. A new 4-year programme of economic reforms was adopted there.
Christine Lagarde is planning to suggest a new programme of cooperation in Ukraine to the IMF Council. The fund recommends that Ukraine realized deep economic reforms and aimed at improving the living standards of the country’s population.
It is an ambitions programme but it is not exempt from risk, the IMF chief said. However, it is realistic, she believes. The realization of the programme may become a turning point for Ukraine, foreign information agencies report.
