The Expert Group has completed its work in Belarus. They said that the negotiations with the authorities were "constructive."
Belarus has completed its work the IMF mission headed by David Hoffman. Experts worked since July 8. They met with the Belarusian authorities.
The talks in Minsk were "constructive", BelTA reported with reference to the IMF representative. The ecperts discussed with the Belarusian authorities the progress "in the implementation of policy and planning in major areas, including in the area of structural reforms."
As is known, the Belarusian authorities are hoping to get a new loan from the IMF. However, the fund has set conditions, and among them, the need for reforms in the Belarusian economy. IMF representatives agreed with the Belarusian authorities that the dialogue will continue, and the issues that were considered will be revised "to prepare a program."
When the International Monetary Fund witnesses a real "sufficient progress" in Belarus, another mission will come for official talks this year.
