Imprisoned right defender Andrei Bandarenka stands trial 3 days before release
Imprisoned rights defender Andrei Bandarenka will stand trial in Mahilyou Lenin District Court on March 29, the human rights website Viasna reports. His term of imprisonment will end on March 31, 2017.
Bandarenka has been accused of repeated disobedience to the prison administration. He is facing up to 2 years of imprisonment or it.
The administration of Mahilyou prison #4 is controlling all Bandarenka’s actions trying to punish him as much as possible. The guards are always finding fault with him and are causing correspondence problems.
If Bandarenka is returned guilty today, rights defenders will be ready to announce him a political prisoner.
The rights defender was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment in colony for hooliganism, malicious hooliganism and very malicious hooliganism in 2014.
