Kazakhstan does not want single EAEU currency

Kazakhstan excludes the possibility of introducing the single national currency in the Eurasian Economic Union, ria.ru quotes Kazakhstani deputy Minister for National Economy Timur Zhaksylykov.

"We are not discussing it. It is not on the agenda,” Zhaksylykov noted. Only the financial market legislation is supposed to be harmonized in the EAEU by 2025, he added.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan created the Eurasian Economic Union on May 29, 2014 in Astana. The agreement came into force on January 1, 2015. Armenia joined the union on January 2, 2015 and Kyrgyzstan is expected to join in May.
