Lenin monument restoration starts in Kharkiv
The local authorities have started restoring the monument to Lenin in Freedom Square. It was demolished by activists on September 28.
Kharkiv inhabitant Marina Kachegura posted a photo on her Twitter on the morning of October 2, lb.ua reports. The photo shows that the place where the monument stood is encircled by construction fences.
The monument in Kharkiv Freedom Square was demolished by pro-Ukraine activists on September 28. The police started a criminal case but the governor of the province ordered to dismantle the monument.
However, Kharkiv Mayor Gennadi Kernes promised to restore the monument to Lenin.
