Lyabedzka and Sevyarynets fined for action in support of Belsat
Oppositionists Anatol Lyabedzka and Pavel Sevyarynets have been fined for taking part in an action in support if the TV channel Belsat. They will have to pay 1150 roubles each for ‘violating the order of organization of mass actions’. The decision was made by Minsk Lenin District Court Judge Andrei Kamushkin, BelaPAN reports.
The unauthorized picket was held near the President’s Administartion on December 20. Several people took part in it. They brought their appeal ‘to stop the broadcasting of Russian propaganda channels undermining Belarus’ independence, include Belsat in the broadcasting network, finance it with budget money and accredit all its reporters’.
It is worth mentioning that Sevyarynets was fined for participation in street actions for the fifteenth time in December 2016. The whole sum of his fines reached 14280 roubles.
