MFA reminds Belarusians about responsibility in Ukraine over trips to Crimea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reminded Belarusians and travel companies that when planning summer holidays they should take into account the conditions for transit, entry-exit and local regluations, MFA spokesperson Dzmitry Mironchyk told reporters during the briefing on March 17 when asked about Crimea. The journalists had asjed him if MFA would alert tourists about responsibility in Ukraine over trips to Crimea via Russia. In 2009-2010, Belarusian MFA warned Belarusians about responsibility in Georgia for visiting Abkhazia.
According to Muronchyk, in 2014-2015 MFA repeatedly informed our compatriots about the requirements of Ukraine with regard to the entry into Crimea by foreigners. "When planning a trip to Crimea during the 2016 season, one needs to take into account that the entry-exit in Crimea when in transit via Ukraine's mainland with the purpose of tourism is not possible," stressed the diplomat.
If Belarusians decide to travek to Crimea via Russia, they may be refused entry into Ukraine or even subjected to admistrative responsibility in accordance with Ukrainian laws.
