Public money for new presidential clinic
The new presidential medical center will open near Zhdanovichy in Minsk's outskirts in 2017.
A complex of the Clinical Medical Centre near Zhdanovichy, Minsk District, will be built in 2014-2017. Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed the corresponding order on November 3, the President’s press service reports.
Minsk City Executive Committee is the client. The main project organization is Instutut Beldzyarzhpraekt and the main contract organization n is Budtrest #10. The construction work will be financed by the republican and Minsk budgets.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka suggested giving the Republican Medical Centre in Chyrvonarameiskaya and Engels Streets to the city authorities on May 15. A new compact medical centre could be built in the suburbs then. It would be much cheaper, Lukashenka said back then: “It would require much less money from the state. We can give this hospital to Ladutska and the city would not have to waste $500 million on building a new one. It could build a new compact centre that would be five times cheaper.”
The new presidential clinic may cost up to €100 million.
