Opposition to hold primaries in Babruisk

“There will be 10-15 names on the list of people who can become the single candidate,” interfax.by quotes United Civil Party leader Anatol Lyabedzka as saying. 90% of them are the well-known people that have presidential ambitions. There will also be ex-candidates among them, Lyabedzka noted. The list will also include those who have not been noticed much in the opposition circles before, he added.

“Primaries on the first election day at local elections are legitimate and allowed by the law,” Lyabedzka claimed. The primaries campaign will kick off in Babruisk a few weeks before the election day.

Involving people in political processes is one of the main goals of the primaries, Lyabedzka said.
