Orthodox inhabitants of Hrodna marked Radonitsa on April 21 (the day of commemoration of the dead). Traditionally, thousands of people visited cemeteries to commemorated their deceased relatives and tidy up their graves.
Orthodox Christians came to church and commemorated their relatives there at first. Then they headed for cemeteries. Services for the dead were served in five city churches.
The number of public transport routes heading for cemeteries was increased in the city on that day so that Hrodna inhabitants could use buses and trolleybuses. Driving inspectors worked near cemeteries to help avoid traffic jams.
