Pavel Sheremet commemorated in Kiev
40 passed since the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet on August 28. An action in his memory was organized at the Sky Hundred Heroes public garden on that day, Ukrainian mass media report.
The journalist’s colleagues including the staff of the Internet edition Ukrainian Pravda came to commemorate him. Civil activists and people’s deputies also joined the action.
He came there because he was personally acquainted with Pavel Sheremet, European Commission press secretary in Ukraine David Stulik told Channel 5. The freedom of mass media and defense of journalists is essential for the European Union, he said.
Pavel Sheremet’s car was blown up in the centre of Kiev on July 20. The journalist died in an ambulance car. Four versions of the murder are being investigated now.
