Police start investigation over hacking of "Free Format" website
Ales Burakou, journalist and owner of the site, declared victim.
On August 7, he met with the investigator who told the reporter that his site had been hacked through a proxy server with IP-addresses identified in Sweden and the Netherlands. Police requests had been sent to these countries to track the probable hackers. According to the investigator, theoretically there is a possibility for the hackers to be found.
It should be noted that the "Free Format" site was hacked by anonymous perpetrators on March 14, 2014. Its entire news archive was deleted, and there appeared two articles that discredited members of Mogilev opposition. Immediately after the site was hacked Ales Burakou filed a statement to the police.
