President’s aide: Systemic problems are being shifted to businesses
Maksim Ryzhankou speaks out to defend the 5th Element retail chain, which is experiencing problems with the trade ministry regulations.
The President’s sports aide, head of the Belarusian Basketball Federation Maksim Ryzhankou has spoken in defence of the multistore 5 element. The Ministry of Trade closed a number of shops for violations on December 11. Ryzhankou’s deputy in the federation is the owner of the multistore - Andrei Balabin.
The President’s aide spoke in support of the multistore in an interview with Pressball. “I think that the measures taken against 5 element are awkward. I cannot assess the economic situation because I am the President’s aide in sport. However, the issue affects a respected member of our federation.
5 element sticks to the social policy, helps the population. It makes me defend our partner. Some system load is being shifted to the Belarusian business. I do not think that this is a responsible approach to the issue.
Everything is experiencing problems now, you know the situation. However, we prefer threats to a dialogue. 5 element seems to be accused of politics. This is not true... You should not rob a businessman of his last shirt. The President commented on such things. But it seems that not everyone can hear the President.”
The Ministry of Trade has given 10 days to put the multistore 5 element in order.
