Breast Province Court refuses to reinstate “Hranit” activist at work
The Belarusian Confederation of Democratic Trade Unions has tried to reinstate the trade union leader at work.
The organization asked to cancel Luninets District Court’s decision on October 11. That court recognized that the trade union leader had been fired from the enterprise “Hranit” legally. In the opinion of BCDTU head Alyaksandr Yarashuk, the sentence contradicted the law:
Yarashuk: “We did not expect anything else. Belarus keeps trying to show that it is possible to live is a state of lawlessness violating its own Constitution and laws as well and the Convention of the International Labour Organization ratified by the country and connected with everything that has happened in Luninets District Court today. ”
Let us remind you that Luninets District Court has admitted that the fact that driver Aleh Stahaeyevich was fired after he had been deprived of his driving license for vague reasons was legal. The court has also claimed that Stahayevich who had a diploma of a mine foreman could not work as attendant of a drilling machine engineer.
Yarashuk says that he will head for Geneva on June 4. According to the trade union leader, the Belarusian case will be considered by the International Labour Organization.
