Reports: MEPs not allowed to visit Belarusian NPP construction site
MEPs interested in the construction of the nuclear power plant in Astravets have not been allowed to enter Belarus. The Belarusian security service made the corresponding decision, ru.delfi.lt сrefers to MEP Petras Auštrevičius.
Algirdas Saudargas, Bronis Ropė and German MEP Rebecca Harms wanted to join him, the Lithuanian politician said. They wanted to visit Minsk, meet with the authorities, ask questions about the construction of the NPP and meet with the representatives of a few NGOs. The MEPs had been planning to visit the NPP construction site in Atsravets.
Lithuanian politicians are criticizing the construction of the Belarusian NPP. They have pronounced a lot of complaints to official Minsk but Belarusian officials keep disputing them.
