There is a lack of teachers in Belarusian schools. Due to the shortage, students are hired instead of specialists with higher education. Euroradio listener whose child studies in a Belarusian school provided this information.

According to him, students used to replace teachers only when they were sick or to give practice lessons. But now they work full time. "That's why the timetable is not set yet, because the teachers don't know their timetable at the university," the listener writes.

First of all, Belarusian schools lack teachers of physics and mathematics. At the moment, the average load per teacher is 27-28 hours per week. That is, the average teacher works for 1.5 classes.
