Stranger attacks Tatstsyana Karatkevich’s picket in Brest
The man put down the flag of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) and fled before the police arrived.
Members of Tatstsyana Karatkevich’s initiative group witnessed an unpleasant incident while collecting signatures in Brest. It happened in Soviet Street on August 8, the human rights website Viasna reports.
Signatures in support of Tatstsyana Karatkevich were being collected when a stranger ran up to the picket all of a sudden. He tore down the flag of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada), tried to hinder the collection of signatures and was swearing. However, when the picketers called the police, the man fled.
Alternative presidential contender’s pickets have also been attacked in Hrodna and Navapolatsk recently.
