Viktar Tsiareshchanka has registered 1300 allies in Central Elections Commission

Presidential contender Viktar Tsiareshchanka gathered 1300 people in his initiative group. This is the first initiative group of a candidate registered so far. Viktar Tsiareshchanka filed a list of 650 people who would be the members of his initiative group to the Central Elections Commission on September 18. On September 20 he added another list with the same number of people. The Central Elections Commission found no obstacles for registration of the initiative group. This was informed to the European Radio for Belarus by the Secretary of the CEC Mikalaj Lazavik.

Lazavik: "He meets all the requirements. He has provided a list of 1300 people. All the requirements with regard to execution of documents have been fulfilled. Thus, we have taken a positive decision. His initiative group will receive certificates and signature sheets".

Viktar Tsiareshchanka is the Chairman of the Council of the Association of small and medium business. This is his third attempt to participate in the Presidential elections. Previous attempts were made in 1994 and 2001. Then he failed to collect the necessary 100 thousand signatures.
