Belarus, Russia try to agree on oil supplies - Russian minister
Belarus and Russia will try to agree on oil supplies in December 2016, Russian deputy Minister of Energy Kirill Molodtsov said. The both sides are interested in activating the negotiations by the end of the year, he added.
Belarus has to supply 1 million tons of gasoline to Russia, Molodtsov reminded. “They are supplying it but a number of issues require consultations,” interfax.by quotes the Russian official as saying.
The Russian deputy Minister of Energy did not announce the plan of oil supplies to Belarus in the first quarter of 2017. He suggested waiting for the schedule to be confirmed on December 15.
The supplies of Russian oil to our country were reduced from 5.3 million tons to 3.5 millions in the third quarter of 2016. It happened because of ‘the gas conflict’ between Belarus and Russia. Belarus was refusing to pay the gas debt announced by Moscow (300 million dollars). Belarus was reported to be considering the increase of tariffs for the transit of Russian oil through the Belarusian territory. Alyaksandr Lukashenka discussed the supplies of Azerbaijani crude oil during his recent visit to Baku.
