Belarus' external debt up $2 billion

Belarus' foreign debt increased by $2 billion or 14.3% this year, reaching $15.6 billion, the press office of Finance Ministry reports.

In the first seven months of 2017, Belarus borrowed $2 billion 572.5 million abroad. Eurobonds cost the most - $1.4 billion. Belarus received $600 million from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development and slightly over $300 million from the Russian government and banks. Loans from Chinese banks amounted to nearly $176 million. In the same period, Belarus paid $653 million to service its external debt.

The state debt of Belarus amounted to Br39.8 billion as of 1 August 2017 - a 7.6% increase since the beginning of the year.
