The Italian authorities have frozen the accounts, movable and immovable property and other assets of Russians and Belarusians in the amount of about 2 billion euros, said the head of the Italian Financial Information Authority, Enzo Serata, reports news agency ANSA.
The freezing of assets is related to the sanctions imposed by the European Union after the beginning of large-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine.
According to Serata, by the end of June, 170 financial transactions involving 80 entities had been frozen. He did not specify how much of the frozen assets belonged to Russians and how much to Belarusians.
