Malaysia seeks to examine Boeing crash site before snow
Experts have up to 45 days to examine the crash site before it may snow in eastern Ukraine.
Minister of Home Affairs Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced it, RBK reports. Snow may hide some of the evidence and complicate the investigation, he noted.
A group of 30 Malaysian experts are still in Kiev and cannot visit the crash site. It cannot be done due to the existing danger to life in the east of Ukraine despite the ceasefire agreement, Hamid explained.
Australian, Malaysian and Dutch experts examined less than half of the site during their last visit to the area. They arrived on the spot at the end of July and spent less than a week there due to constant shelling. They stopped working for safety reasons on August 6.
The Malaysia Airlines plane that was heading for Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam crashed in East Ukraine on July 17. All the 298 people on board died.
