Maniushka and Dunin-Martsinkevich monuments to appear in Minsk
Monument to composers Stanislau Maniushka and writer Vintsent Dunin-Martsinkevich will appear this year in the center of Minsk, Chief of Department of Culture and Cultural and Educational Work at the Culture and Youth Affairs Department of Minsk City Executive Committee Syarhei Myadzvedzeu told journalists.
According to him, the two monuments to cultural figures will be installed on the territory of the Upper Town.
The creation and establishment of these monuments is dedicated to the Year of Culture, announced in Belarus this year. Minsk will host a series of events dedicated to the anniversaries of famous figures of culture and art. For example, there is planned a celebration of the 125th anniversary of Maksim Bahdanovich, 120th anniversary of Kandrat Krapiva, the 95th anniversary Ivan Shamyakin and Ivan Melezh. Also in the capital will be celebrated the 130th anniversary of Zmiatrok Byadulya, the 140th anniversary of Alaiza Pashkevich and the 75th anniversary of Uladzimir Mulyavin, BelTA informs.
