Scandinavian donors stop financing EHU
Scandinavian countries have stopped financing the European Humanities University, according to the Nordic Council - the council of foreign minsters from Scandinavian and Baltic states.
The decision was made because the budget is being restructured in order to free some money for the integration of migrants and refugees. The decision is based on the discussion and the role and strategy of the EHU.
The decision may be connected with a number of scandals in the university (David Polik was appointed rector and Anatol Mihailau – President), Nasha Niva notes. The Nortdic Council asked for the audit of the financial activities of the EHU because the current administration was suspected of power abuse.
Scandinavian countries and the European Commission used to be the main sponsors of the European Humanities University.
