Three activists detained at anti-EAEU action
Alternativa activists (youth organization registered in Latvia) have been detained in Minsk October Square on the evening of May 29.
Activist Volha Zhuraulyova decided to come to the square in protest against the Eurasian Economic Union Agreement, Aleh Korban, the organization leader, said. It was a solo picket – she was holding the poster Death to Kremlin occupants!. Volha’s little son was there too.
Two more Alternativa activists, Volha Burnevich and Syarhei Kachur, were standing aside. A police van arrived several minutes later. All the activists and the little child were detained and delivered to Minsk Central District Department of the Interior.
Zhuraulyova was accused of organization of an unauthorized action. She will have to appear in court on June 2. Burnevich and Kachur were let off without any reports, BelaPAN informs.
