Gunman stops news broadcast in Netherlands (video)
He wanted 10 minutes of air time to announce his demands.
A young gunman was arrested in the Netherlands for attacking the studio of the TV channel NOS during the evening news. The employees were evacuated and the broadcasting was interrupted for about an hour.
A young man dressed in a black suit and wearing a white tie wanted air time. He came to the empty studio with a gun. He did not resist the police during his detention.
The arrested person is an 19-year-old Dutchman living near the Hague, BBC refers to foreign mass media. His motive is unknown. The TV channel has shown the video of his attack. The man said: “There are things that need to be said. There are huge world problems. We have been hired by the security service.”
The TV channel received a letter with threats of a bomb explosion and cyber attacks before the gunman’s arrival.
The attacker said that he was a member of ‘some group of hackers’, the reporter who managed to talk to him said.
