Journalist fined for covering protest and interview with MP

Freelance journalist Yauhen Merkis has been fined 920 roubles (40 base amounts). The ruling was made by Homiel's Soviet District Court judge Andrei Lahunovich, Radio Liberty reports.
Merkis was returned guilty of illegal mass media production for the Polish satellite TV channel Belsat without accreditation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
Markis was accused of streaming a broadcast during the Non-Freeloaders’ March in Pinsk on March 11 and an interview with MP Ihar Marzalyuk at a similar action in Mahilyou on March 15.
