Minsk officials want all schoolchildren in the capital to dress alike.

"What do we want? To eliminate the diversity of approaches, we propose to unify approaches to the business style of dressing Minsk schoolchildren for the next school year. Through a broad preliminary discussion to determine several sets of clothing for boys and girls in a single color scheme," the Minsk-Novosti agency quoted chairman of the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Stryhelski.

The officials want to place "elements of the state symbols of Minsk and the emblem of the educational institution" on the uniforms.

Such uniforms will differ only in price. Tatsiana Luhina, the chairwoman of the Bellegprom concern, believes that this non-trivial idea can become a pilot project for 246 educational institutions in Minsk.
