As many as 87.3% of teachers in Belarus are women. This profession remains predominantly female.
A Belarusian teacher earns an average of 2022.3 BYN (612 USD) per month. When reporting this figure, Belstat boasts: it has grown by more than a quarter over the year! But it fails to mention that teachers have to work one and a half and two times to earn such money.
The first Sunday in October is traditionally celebrated as Teachers' Day in Belarus.
