Belarus imposes restrictions on international parcels
The free import of parcels has been restricted to 22 euro and 10 kilos. Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed the corresponding decree on February 11 and it came into force two months later.
A physical entity can receive parcels from abroad for 22 euro a month without paying the customs duty now. The weight should not exceed 10 kilos. The numbers sued to be 200 euro and 31 kilos.
Foreign parcels ‘collapsed the Belarusian trade, head of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said in the first half of 2015. Belarusians received 4 million 400 thousand parcels from abroad in the first six month of 2015. Over 250 thousand Belarusians received from 10 to 100 and more parcels from foreign online shops last year, BELTA reports. The goods were imported for commercial use, customs officers believe.
