Belarus "lawmakers" pass bill to allow KGB restrict foreign travel for citizens

On April 18, the House of Representatives passed in second reading a bill giving the KGB the right to restrict exit from Belarus in the interests of national security.
It has the following measures
- Temporary restriction of the exit from Belarus of persons against whom an administrative case is being conducted;
- The State Security Committee is given the right to temporarily restrict the exit of individuals from the country in the interests of national security;
- specifies the grounds for deferment of military service.
The law also provides for "additional regulation of the procedure for the departure of employees of state bodies abroad".
In preparation for the second reading, the draft law specified the procedure for coordinating the departure from Belarus of heads of state bodies, state organizations and employees with access to state secrets.
