Lukashenka invites Pope Francis to Belarus
On May 21, Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Pope Francis met at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. The event lasted 40 minutes, 25 of them were in the "one on one" format. The Belarusian leader invited the pontiff to visit our country.

The Belarusian leader presented Pope Francis with a copy of the Saint Euphrosyne Cross, the coach model and a holographic icon. The Pope gave Aliaksandr Lukashenka a present of three papers about the Gospel, the protection of nature and family, that he had written, as well as an artistic image of the olive tree.
"Minsk can be a place of peace," said the Pope.
