No honorary titles from Culture Ministry for Svetlana Alexievich

The Ministry of Culture is not going to award the 2015 Nobel Prize Winner for Literature Svetlana Alexievich with any honorary titles, BelaPAN has learned from the Deputy Minister of Culture Vasil Chernik.

Chernik said that the Ministry of Culture is ready to consider a proposal for Alexievich, if it comes from the Union of Writers of Belarus, headed by Mikalai Charhinets or "Union of Belarusian Writers" led by Barys Pyatrovich. Why the Ministry of Culture is not going to come up with such an initiative, Chernik did not explain.
