Human rights activists say that priest Uladzislau Bahamolnikau has been released after spending more than 100 days in the detention center in Minsk.

Bahamolnikau teaches at the Minsk Theological Academy. He served a litany for the murdered Raman Bandarenka and declared a hunger strike supporting Ihar Losik.

The Orthodox priest Bahamolnikau was detained on August 31st. He spent more than 100 days in prison after getting seven administrative arrests. Human rights activists reported that the priest went on a hunger strike behind bars and was down with covid. Later, he was not released but re-arrested under a criminal article.

Bahamolnikau was charged with Article 342 (active participation in actions that grossly violate public order). After another ten days of detention under criminal charges expired, Bahamolnikau was released on his recognizance not to leave the town.
