Russian propagandist and writer Zakhar Prilepin, who was injured when his car exploded near Nizhny Novgorod, is in serious condition, the Interfax news agency wrote with reference to a source.
The panel of doctors assessed Prilepin's condition and decided not to risk transporting him to Moscow. As a result, the writer will be operated on in Nizhny Novgorod.
The details of Prilepin's condition are not reported: only trauma to the lower limbs is known. Doctors have not yet made any prognoses and assessments.
The car with the propagandist and one of the ideologists of the "Russian World" blew up while he was returning home from the Russian-occupied territories of the so-called "LNR" and "DNR". As a result of the explosion, the driver was killed. Russian security forces have already reported detaining the suspect.
Prilepin first became known as a writer. But then he became the "face of the Russian World". He actively supports the separatists in Donbas and has been going there himself since 2014. He is also a fan of the "revival of the USSR".
