Us says newspapers refuse to publish his program. Editors refute that
Presidential candidate Dzmitry Us claimed that the state newspapers "Soviet Byelorussia", "Zviazda" and "Minsk Courier" had refused to publish his pre-electoral campaign. According to Us, the state media did not like the part of the program where he compared current election system in Belarus with the election system in Germany in the 30s of the last century. ERB has called to all the three editor's offices. We have been informed that no one refused to publish Us's pre-electoral program. The deputy chief editor of "Minsk Courier" Aleh Pakholkin said the newspaper had accepted Us's program:
Pakholkin: "We've accepted it but haven't considered yet. His representative brought it and signed".
Representatives of the newspaper "Zviazda" have told ERB that no one refused to publish the candidate's program. However, they asked him to correct mistakes in the text. Us's representative should bring the text of the program today:
"Zviazda": "No, we haven't refused to publish the program. How could we refuse? His representative took the program away as there were mistakes in it. We are waiting for him to bring it back now."
"Soviet Byelorussia" also denied that they had refused to publish the candidate's program.
