Information ministry classifies list of extremist websites
The list of extermist websites and online communities has disappeared from the Information Ministry website. There is an empty space under the relevant title on the website.
The list was removed after the October 12 publication on Euroradio Information ministry "disseminates" extremist materials...legally?. The list, as Euroradio noted, contained inactive links to the websites and groups on social media recognized as extremist by the government. Those extremist websites would be easily accessed by simply copying the links into browsers.
Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) Andrei Bastunets said in a commentary for Euroradio that the Information Ministry is obliged to publish the list of the websites and online communities with extremist content. He was surpised, however, that those websites could actually be accessed.
