Lukashenka, Poroshenko to visit Chernobyl

Aliaksandr Lukashenka on April 26 will take part in events dedicated to the Chernobyl nuclear accident anniversary. He will join Ukraine's president Petro Poroshenko to visit the nuclear power plant and the infrastructure around it. The presidents will focus on the works in progress in order to maintain radiation safety standards for the interests of people in the two neighboring countries.
Lukashenka and Poroshenko will also familiarize themselves with the construction of a new safety system and nuclear fuel waste storage facility. They will also attend a memorial service for the liquidators and victims of the accident.
On the same day, they will cross the border into Belarus and hold talks on biletaral cooperation, focusing on trade, political interaction, international agenda, and on further efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, reports the press office of Belarusian president.
