The Polish government maintains an approach of maximum support for the Belarusian civil society. This was stated during a meeting between the Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet (UTC) Pavel Latushka and the Director of the Consular Department of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the press service of the UTC reports.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that work on a new visa law in Poland will begin in June, and in August it will be published on the portal of legislative acts. After that, it will be possible to make suggestions within the framework of a public discussion.

Belarusians who are at risk of arrest, detention or imprisonment will continue to receive humanitarian visas to leave the country urgently. Such visas will continue to be issued only once.

Today in Poland, according to a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 8,100 citizens of Belarus have received international protection.

"The director of the consular department assured that if something happens to citizens of Belarus with documents on the status of international protection in any third country, then they have the right to contact the Polish consul to return to Poland and restore the documents. As for other consular assistance, there are certain difficulties, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to consider individual cases," Latushka said.

As for the Poland Business Harbor program, the problems arising from its closure will be discussed after the completion of an audit by the Supreme Audit Office at the Polish Foreign Ministry with the participation of two ministries - Regional Policy and Family. "The issue has been taken into account and we will move forward," said Latushka.

The Polish Foreign Ministry also commented on the queues at visa centers. The problems were explained by the fact that the Lukashenka regime expelled a large number of Polish consuls. In addition, it is the holiday season when many people try to get visas.
