Paralympian Ihar Bokiy wins 5th medal in Rio
Swimmer Ihar Bokiy has won another gold medal in Rio. This is the Belarusian sportsman’s fifth medal won this year and his fourth gold medal (now he has 4 gold medals and 1 bronze medal).
Bokiy won the 50m freestyle in the category S13. His result was 23.44 seconds. The sportsman broke his own Paralympic record set a few hours before, tut.by reports.
Brazilian Carlos Farenberg (24.17) won the silver medal and Muzafar Tursunhadzhayev from Uzbekistan took the third place (24.21).
Belarus national Paralympic team is in the 15 position in the rankings now (8 medals – 6,0,2). Bokiy won 4 gold medals and one bronze medal, swimmer Uladzimir Izotau and fencer in a wheelchair Andrei Pranevich also won gold medals. Javelin-thrower Alyaksandr Tryputs won a bronze medal.
