Lukashenka sends New Year greeting to Putin, not Obama
The Belarusian President has sent Christmas and New Year greetings to foreign leaders.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has sent greetings to the administration of the Russian Federation, Patriarch of Moscow Kirill, Presidents of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Ukraine, to CIS, European, Asian, African, Middle East and Latin American leaders.
The Belarusian Presidnet's greetings have also been sent to international organizations, Russian regions, famous politicians and civil activists and representatives of business circles.
But no greetings have been sent to the U.S. President. Lukashenka did not congratulate Obama on his re-election either. The official explanation was the principle of reciprocity: Obama had not congratulated the Belarusian leader on his re-election in 2010.
