The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has decided to admit Belarusian and Russian riders and horses to international competitions in neutral status. The decision was made at the meeting of the FEI Executive Committee.
"The terms and conditions for the implementation of this decision will be proposed for approval to the FEI Executive Committee during a teleconference in December 2023," the decision reads.
In March 2022, sanctions were imposed on athletes from Belarus and Russia for aggression against Ukraine. In April this year, the FEI extended the sanctions despite recommendations from the IOC to allow the athletes to compete in neutral status.
